Producers are reminded that the final 2007 crop reporting deadline for spring-planted crops is July 16 in Nebraska.
Producers participating in farm programs are required to report all cropland acres to be eligible for FSA benefits. Specific programs that require certification of crops include Direct and Counter-Cyclical Programs (DCP), Conservation Reserve Programs (CRP), Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP), Loan Deficiency Payments (LDP) and Marketing Assistance Loans (MAL).
If a crop has not been planted by the final reporting deadline, the acreage must be reported within 15 calendar days after planting is complete to be considered timely certified. This procedure includes reporting any subsequent crops planted after the harvest of wheat.
Failure to report all cropland acreage by the reporting deadlines could result in the loss of program benefits. A late file fee will be assessed for farms failing to meet the acreage reporting certification deadlines. A late file certification also will require a field visit.
