Authorities now have the preliminary autopsy reports on the death of Jeremy Imus, but don't know anything more into the cause of his death than they did before.

Chief Deputy Dodge County Attorney Stacey Hultquist said her office received a fax late Thursday that determined the cause of death as unknown. The report also gave no time frame for the death. It did confirm, through a dental match, that the body found Monday at 220 E. 15th St. in a second floor closet was that of Imus.

Hultquist would not comment on whether she received toxicology reports.

Fremont Police Deputy Chief Steve Tellatin has said there is no medical or physical evidence of foul play at this time. He has said the investigation into the death is continuing and is not a criminal investigation, but a death investigation and missing person investigation.

Imus, 32, was last seen Christmas morning and was reported missing Jan. 1. He had just been released from prison Dec. 21.

His badly decomposed body was discovered Monday morning by an investigator from the Nebraska Fire Marshal's Office looking for an electrical circuit breaker box. He was investigating the cause of an early morning basement fire that was determined to be accidental and caused by faulty wiring. The home had been vacant for more than two years.

Anyone with any information regarding the case is asked to call the Fremont Police Detective Bureau at 727-2680.
