The funeral for Emily P. Vech, 100, of Fremont, formerly of Cedar Bluffs, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs.

She died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Nye Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.

She was born May 23, 1907, in Morse Bluff to John and Anna (Ondracek) Zakovec. She grew up in the Morse Bluff area and attended District 54 School. She married Louis Vech on March 12, 1941, in Wahoo. After her marriage, she moved to a farm in rural Cedar Bluffs. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 13, 1997. She lived at Cedar Bluffs until moving to Fremont in 2004.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: a son, Marvin (and wife, Sandra) Vech of Cedar Bluffs; two grandsons, David (and wife, Susan) Vech of Malmo and Kevin (and wife, Diana) Vech of Lincoln; and three great-grandchildren, Chris, Andrew and Brittany Vech, all of Malmo.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Louis, Frank and John Zakovec; and two infant brothers.

The Rev. Mark Weber will officiate Friday’s service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Cedar Bluffs with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Killian Cemetery at Morse Bluff.

A memorial has been established to the church.
