LETTER: The choice is yours for Senate nominee

By Larry Marvin/Fremont

May 13 is near and the choice for U.S. Senator will be narrowed from eight candidates to just four candidates.

This candidate, Larry Marvin, was the first Democratic candidate to file and has campaigned as David out to defeat Goliath, and also as the unknown Dawn Rockey who defeated Frank Marsh (for state treasurer).

Is apathy or the feeling of exclusion a greater threat to our democracy and nation than terrorism? Do you feel excluded or just don’t care? Did any of us eight candidates motivate you to vote May 13? Do you want change or do you want transparent accountability on each person to perform duties for which we pay them or elect them? Are we paying too much for failure to receive enforcement of our existing laws such as:

1. Solving murders-moral-immoral-amoral?

2. Solving robbery, organized crime, scams and embezzlement?

3. Solving rape, domestic abuse and abortion?

4. Solving price-fixing and bribery (monopolies and hedging)?

5. Solving poverty, starvation and genocide?

6. Solving low wages, child labor and sweat shops?

7. Solving conflicts of interest and nepotism?

8. Solving why American women can’t ski jump in our Winter Olympics in Canada in 2010?

9. Solving affordable health care and affordable insurance?

10. Solving energy and environmental problems?

I have the experience and ability to hold people accountable to get things done. Will you accept the challenge, that I hope all Nebraskans are motivated to get out and vote for one of us eight candidates on Tuesday. The choice is yours.

Larry Marvin of Fremont is a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate.
