An autopsy has been ordered on a woman found dead in her home Wednesday evening.
Lt. Jeff Elliott said the woman’s body was found by officers at 6:39 p.m. at 1450 N. Broad St. Her name has not been released pending family notification.
“Officers were called to check the welfare of the female resident because no one had heard from her in a while,” Elliott said. “Officers observed a 43-year-old female dead in the room.”
He would not comment on a possible cause of death, but said an autopsy was ordered and a detective was called to the scene. He said the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
“We’re concerned about some of the circumstances (surrounding her death),” Elliott said. “There were some concerns about the scene. We wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything.”
