Keene Memorial Library is sponsoring a free rocket-building course taught by Fremont Middle School science teacher Ogden “Yogi” Martin.

The four-day course will take place on June 3-6 at Fremont Middle School. Participants must attend all four days of the course. It is open to students who will be entering sixth, seventh or eighth grade in the fall. Each participant will build and keep a rocket.

This rocket-building program is part of Keene Memorial Library’s “Guys Rock Fremont!” summer series of programs. This series aims to encourage middle school-aged boys to read. New rocket books and DVDs will be added to the library’s collection in conjunction with this program. “Guys Rock Fremont” is made possible by a grant from the Nebraska Library Commission.

There are 30 available spaces in the rocket-building course. Participants must sign up in person at the library.Parents cannot sign up for their kids.
