Leonard Lechner
The funeral for Leonard H. Lechner, 81, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
He died Thursday May 15, 2008, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
He was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Nebraska City to Theodore and Agnes (Kuhlman) Lechner. He grew up on a farm near Paul. He had worked for the railroad and in Fremont for the former Fremont Cake and Meal, now Archer-Daniels-Midlands Co., and retired from Hubbard Milling in 1991. He married Evelyne Houghton Lewis on May 10, 1968, in Beloit, Kan. They made their home in Fremont.
He was a member of the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200.
Survivors include: a daughter, Doreen (Mrs. Doug) Peterson of Wahoo; a grandson, Timothy Peterson of Wahoo; a great-grandson, Mason Morton of Lincoln; four sisters, Marie Koeppel of Nebraska City, Lorine Hespin of Syracuse, Evelyn Hagar of Ragland, Ala. and Elsie Hicks of Omaha; and a brother, Francis (and wife, Bernadette) Lechner of Trenton, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyne on Sept. 17, 1991; and two brothers, Ervin and Kenneth.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friend 2-4 p.m., at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
