Summer isn’t a time to stop thinking.

That’s the message this week at Camp Invention, which is being held at Bell Field Elementary School.

Students entering first- through sixth-grades are taking part in the camp.

Created by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation in Akron, Ohio, Camp Invention focuses on hands-on, inquiry based learning activities that keep children engaged.

Instead of sitting in front of computer screens or TVs this week, the students have been able to take apart old keyboards and small appliances.

Throughout the day, the children rotate through different learning modules, exchanging ideas and setting up trial-and-error experiments.

Our son is attending Camp Invention this week and is having a great time! The camp leaders have been very well organized and display a wonderful attitude toward the children. Thank you to all of the people and organizations that make this camp available in Fremont, and at an affordable price. This camp is much more expensive elsewhere. We will keep coming back for sure!
