Fremont woman faces charges in stabbing

A Fremont woman was arrested Saturday morning after being accused of stabbing a man twice in the back, Fremont Police said.

Sarah Prochaska, 24, was charged with second-degree assault, a Class II felony, and use of a weapon to commit a felony, a Class III felony.

She is accused stabbing a 24-year-old man.

Lt. Jeff Elliott said officers were called at 5:27 a.m. to the 500 block of W. Sixth Street because of loud screaming. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying inside an open door with two stab wounds to the back.

Elliott said an investigation revealed that the victim and Prochaska had been out drinking, came home, argued and then the victim was stabbed.

The victim was transported to Fremont Area Medical Center where he was treated and released.

As of press time, Prochaska remained in the Dodge County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of a $50,000 bond. No future court dates were available.
