Helen A. Mach, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Wahoo, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln.

She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Dwight to Joseph and Rose (Buresh) Tichy. She grew up in Dwight and attended school there. She married George Mach of Weston on Feb. 7, 1950, in Dwight. They resided on a farm near Weston for 19 years. In 1969, they moved to Wahoo. She worked as a cook at the Saunders County Hospital for 14 years. Her husband died on Aug. 15, 1971, 37 years to the day before Helen. Helen had been a resident the last four years at Lancaster Manor.

She was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.

Survivors include: a daughter, Rose Ann (and husband, Harry) Richardson of Lincoln; a brother, Frank Tichy of Bee; two sisters, Ann Scharf and Rose Matulka, both of Lincoln; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, a sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo with the Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
