A Fremont man accused of impregnating a 15-year-old girl when he was 35 entered into a plea agreement Monday in Dodge County District Court.
Ronald Bowers, 36, pleaded no contest to first-degree sexual assault, a Class II felony. In exchange for his plea, two identical charges were dismissed.
A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing set for Oct. 6. Bowers faces up to 50 years in prison.
Court records accused Bowers of having sexual intercourse three times with the 15-year-old victim between May 2007 and August 2007. The affidavit also states Bowers gave the girl alcohol before the incidents in his home. DNA testing found Bowers was the father of the girl’s child born Feb. 27.
Other cases heard Monday included:
* Scott House, 21, of Fremont was sentenced to seven months in jail for third-degree sexual assault, a Class I misdemeanor.
* Mark McTaggart, 44, of Uehling pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a Class IV felony, and guilty to DUI-second offense greater than .15 percent blood alcohol content, a Class I misdemeanor. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing set for Oct. 6. He will make application to drug court.
* Lisa Morehouse, 43, of Fremont had her sentencing for attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, a Class IV felony, continued until Oct. 13. Her bond was revoked and she was remanded to jail until her continued sentencing date.
* Jody Reuss, 40, of Fremont pleaded no contest to third-degree sexual assault of a child, a Class IIIA felony. In exchange for his plea, two identical charges and a habitual criminal enhancement were dismissed. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing set for Oct. 6. A motion to reduce his bond from 10 percent of $100,000 was denied.
* John Spracklin, 38, of Fremont was sentenced to 14 months to three years in prison for attempted burglary, a Class IV felony. He also was ordered to pay $195 in restitution.
* A bench warrant for failure to appear was issued for Thomas Hansen, 31, of Omaha.
