Patrick E. Nelson, 52, of Arlington died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Patrick was born Jan. 20, 1956, in Landers, Wyo., to Denton and Caryl (Berney) Nelson. As an infant, he moved to Fort Calhoun with his family and grew up there. He was a 1974 graduate of Fort Calhoun High School. He had been employed by Valmont Industries for the past 32 years and was still currently employed there.
He married Michelle Marion on Jan. 2, 1981, in Elk Point, S.D. Arlington has been their home for the past 20 years.
He was a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association).
Survivors include: his wife, Michelle; three daughters, Angela Nelson of Fremont, Laurelle Nelson of Arlington and Lana Nelson of Fremont; three grandchildren, Avery Christensen and Logan and Lexi Kendall; his mother, Caryl Nelson of Fort Calhoun; a brother, Mike Nelson of Fort Calhoun; two sisters, Sheila (and husband, Richard) Gerdes of Omaha and Deb (and husband, William) Schurevich of Fremont; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Denton.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
