After reading the article in Saturday’s Trib, I was upset with Mr. Ekeler’s remark at the end of the article.
I quote, "It is only a small percentage of the people being very vocal." As an employer of his own business and having Hispanics working for him, I understand why he says the thing he does. Look and see who is on the task force. Every one that voted no, Hormel and other employers of Hispanics.
And the $17,000 cost is a one time thing. That is small amount to what goes out of or costing our city.
At 71 I have never seen a task force accomplish anything and that even goes as far as our government. I believe and many others believe it is to pacify the public for what they did at the council meeting.
What is so wrong about getting rid of people that have broken our laws. Maybe if housing and jobs stop being there for them, they will get out and go home. It is a known fact that is what is happening in Oklahoma. Maybe the general public is more informed than Mr. Ekeler gives us credit for.
