The Fremont Bergan boys cross country team placed sixth at the 11-team Wisner-Pilger Invitational on Thursday with 84 points.
Lindsay Holy Family won with 30 points.
Bergan’s Evan Stober finished ninth overall with a time of 19:37. His time was over two minutes better than last year on the same course and the ninth best time ever for a Bergan runner on the course.
Jimmy Ahrens also improved his time over last year to place 21st in 20:37 while Cody Brdicko shaved just over three minutes off of last year’s time placing 28th with a time of 21:12.
In their first race ever Tyler Mathison (22:05) and Luke Cavanaugh (22:48) placed 35th and 39th respectively.
It was also the first race ever for JV runners Tommy Manes (62nd, 25:34) and Travis Madsen (80th, 34:17).
