Preusker’s field goal sinks O-C

OAKLAND - Brian Preusker kicked a 32-yard field goal with :09 left to play Friday as West Point Central Catholic edged Oakland-Craig 35-34.

Trailing 32-14 entering the fourth quarter, Oakland-Craig scored three straight touchdowns to take a 34-32 lead.

Kolton Charling began the scoring surge with a 1-yard run. Charling then completed a 10-yard pass to Dylan Jensen. Travis Lindstrom scored the Knights’ final touchdown on a 10-yard run.

Lindstrom also scored O-C’s opening touchdown of the game (60-yard run) before West Point Central Catholic scored 25 straight points.

WPCC quarterback Anthony Ridder had touchdown runs of 16 and 44 yards and completed a 31-yard TD pass to Jeremy Yosten. Ridder added an 8-yard scoring run in the third quarter. He compiled 122 yards on 15 carries and completed 7 of 15 passes for 95 yards.

Cody Stalp also had a touchdown run for the Bluejays of 18 yards.

Oakland-Craig’s Patrick Wonka had three receptions for 122 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown catch. Charling was 10 of 15 passing for 211 yards while Lindstrom racked up 148 yards on 19 carries.

The Knights (3-3) play Friday night at Creighton. WPCC (4-2) will host Scribner-Snyder.
