For the first time in school history, the Bergan High School Band competed in a marching band contest on Oct. 4. The Bergan Band performed in the Columbus Marching Band Festival and competed in the parade marching competition.
There were 24 high school and middle school bands that performed in the parade competition that was held in downtown Columbus. There were five bands in Class C-D. Placing first was David City Aquinas High School. Bergan and East Butler High School tied for second. Twin River High School was third while Shelby High School was fourth.
