A teenager accused in the burglary of a downtown electronics store entered into a plea agreement Monday in Dodge County District Court.

Jose Garcia-Pardo, 18, of Fremont pleaded guilty to burglary, a Class III felony. In exchange for his plea, a charge of false information, a Class I misdemeanor, was dismissed.

He and four other teenagers are accused of breaking into Great Plains Stereo, 400 N. Main St., and taking stereo equipment on Oct. 1. Fremont Police said they caught all five at the electronics shop mid-burglary that night and some are believed to have been involved in other burglaries at Great Plains Stereo.

Dodge County Attorney Paul Vaughan said a CrimeStoppers tip that Garcia-Pardo and the others were going to burglarize the business was received earlier in the day. Officers waited in a nearby business and caught the boys.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing set for Jan. 26. A request to reduce Garcia-Pardo’s bond from 10 percent of $50,000 was denied. There is an Immigration and Custom Enforcement detainer on Garcia-Pardo for being in the country illegally.

Other cases heard Monday included:

n Aaron Bassett, 19, of Snyder was sentenced to the six-month work ethic camp, followed by two years of intense supervised probation with electronic monitoring for the first 90 days for theft by unlawful taking, a Class IV felony. He also was ordered to pay $220 in restitution.

n Christopher Leffler, 28, of Scribner was sentenced to two years of intense supervised probation for attempted burglary, a Class IV felony. He also was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution.

He is accused of missing 13 scheduled meetings with his probation officer, leaving the county without permission, drinking alcohol, missing several drug tests and not paying court costs. An updated pre-sentence investigation was ordered and sentencing set for Jan. 12. A request to reduce his bond from 10 percent of $10,000 was denied.
