A rural Arlington woman was killed Thursday afternoon in an accident with a semi-truck near West Point.
Information from a death notice from Ludvigsen Mortuary stated the woman was JaNelle Kruger, 59.
The Nebraska State Patrol would not release the woman’s name until 1 p.m. today, pending family notice of the accident.
An NSP dispatcher said the accident happened at 5:48 p.m. about five miles south of West Point on U.S. Highway 275. A southbound Ford Taurus driven by Kruger and a northbound semi-truck, driver information unavailable, collided nearly head on. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and there were no passengers in either vehicle. No information was available about whether the truck driver was injured.
The accident remains under investigation and no further information was available at press time.
