Open house will honor Mackey

An open house honoring Peggy Mackey, principal of Milliken Park Elementary School, will take place from 3:30-5 p.m. May 18 at Milliken Park.

Mackey is retiring after 32 years of service with Fremont Public Schools. Everyone is invited to attend. Students are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent.

She has worked as a special education teacher at the Fremont Opportunity Center, FPS Severe and Profoundly Handicapped Program at St. Patrick’s Elementary and Linden Elementary School. She was a school psychologist at Linden, Washington, North Side, Lincoln, Clarmar and Davenport schools.

She served as assistant principal at Clarmar and Washington schools. Then she served as principal at Clarmar, Davenport and Milliken Park schools. She also worked for UNMC at the Meyer Children’s Rehabilitation Institute as a staff psychologist.
