LETTER: Some flags need to be replaced

The Fourth of July is coming up and it saddens me to see flags that are torn and dirty.

There are homes and businesses that let their flags get that way.

I know our government is a mess, but we have men and women dying for us.

As a veteran Boy Scout leader in the past, I was taught to respect the flag.

I ask you all to replace your flag if it is dirty and torn.

You can take them to the American Legion or Boy Scouts to be burnt in the right way.

Show respect to our men and women in the military and your own country by replacing your flag and doing it when you see another flag getting that way.

Please drop off Flags for retirement any Monday between 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or in the office during normal business hours c/o the Troop and we will see that it is properly retired. Ifa anyone is interested in seeing a flag retirement ceremony, we would be glad to have you with us. Thank you.
