The First State Bank Junior Legion baseball team opened the Platte River Slugfest with a 12-0 win over Hastings.
Robbie Barton pitched all five innings allowing one hit and walking two with four strikeouts.
Cody Brdicko was 3 for 3 from the plate and Nick Brown was 2 for 3 and Kyle Coleman 2 for 4. Matt Jacobs, Dillon McQuistan, Alex Bobbett and Aaron Carnahan also recorded hits in the win.
The Juniors take on Lincoln East and Beatrice Saturday.
