Lynda Kock

Lynda K. Kock, 68, of Fremont, formerly of Bassett, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, due to ongoing heart issues.

Lynda Kaye Saunders was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Dixon to James and Mabel (Bachman) Saunders. She was the youngest of eight children and attended elementary and high school in Dixon. She married Gene Benjamin in 1957 and moved to Coleridge. She lived there for a short period of time until marrying Kenneth Kock in 1960 and moving to Fremont where she lived until 1978. At that time, she moved to Bassett, where she was known as a great cook and worked as a certified nurse’s aide (CNA) for a period of time. In 1982, she met August Schuman and spent the rest of her time in Bassett traveling to different states until she became ill. In December 2008, Lynda returned to Fremont to be closer to her family. She was known to be an avid Elvis Presley fan and collected several items of memorabilia.

Survivors include: four sons, Rick Benjamin, Kevin (Barbara) Kock, James (Pamela) Kock, all of Fremont, and Timothy Kock of Kabul, Afghanistan; a daughter, Korina Cave of North Bend; four sisters, Lois Cavanaugh of Wahoo, Lynnete Benjamin of Omaha, Lorilei Fehringer of Bloomfield and Leta Whitlock of Ponca; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister as well as her longtime companion, August Schuman.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dugan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Greg Hall officiating. There is no visitation.

Rick, Korina and the rest of the family; you mother was a special lady and she was a large part of my life back in the old day. I have some very fond memories of her. My thoughts and my prayers are with you all in this time of loss. May the LORD bless and comfort you during this time

hello family, I cant believe my auntie is gone.
She holds a very special place in our hearts. We will miss her dearly.Im so glad I got to do a little traveling with her YMCA of the rockies. yellowstone was great she and my mother are real troopers! I was greatful for the time spent with them there. They camped slept in tents survied the air mattress losing all air and they never complained. They kept up with us it was great! also went to montana. I'll cherish my memories always. To all my cousions and their children Im so sorry for your loss. Your all in my thoughts and prayers. May my Dear Aunt Lynda find Elvis! Love ya all, Debbie

Rick: So sorry to hear of Lynda's passing. I'll tell ya what we sure have some great memories of the good ol days back at Kindlers don't we. The best of times, I shall never forget, to this day she still remains in my memory as that young spirited gal she was then. Take care and god bless. Your in our thoughts and prayers.
