Ghouls and ghosts, Army boys and girls, dinosaurs and Transformers filled the streets of Fremont Saturday for Halloween.

Children had their pick of places to acquire candy starting with the Spooktacular at Parkview Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Kids also had events such as the Fremont Alliance Church Fall Festival or the Haunted Trail of Terror at Izaak Walton Park, or they could go the traditional way and trick-or-treat door to door.

Children and parents alike could grab a warm treat from the home of Dave and Diane Olson, where hot dogs were grilled by the hundreds for spooky passers-by.

There were also a variety of after dark costume parties, where adults could howl, at local establishments including the Fremont Golf Club, where High Heel and the Band performed in front of dozens of costumed creations such as Julius Caesar, Colonel Sanders and even Michael Jackson.
