James “Jim” Noha, 65, of Wahoo died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 5, 1944, in Wahoo to Frank and Rose (Lukas) Noha. He graduated from Wahoo High School in 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy. Later, he made his home in Estes Park, Colo., before returning to Wahoo where he worked as a deputy sheriff for several years. He also worked for Oden Enterprises in Wahoo before retiring from ADM in Lincoln in the mid 1990s. After retirement, he managed the Eagle’s Club in Wahoo for several years.
He married Connie Helsing on June 23, 2006, in Plattsmouth.
He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2971 of Wahoo.
Survivors include: his wife; sons, Dusty Noha of Omaha and Nate Noha of Gypsum, Colo. sisters, Kae (and husband, John) Sanderson of Colon and Shari (and husband, Rod) Warriner of Wahoo; and two grandsons.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo.
Memorials have been established to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Hospice & Home Healthcare of Saunders County.
