Dorlin G. Drieling, 73, of Mead died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at his home in Mead.
He was born April 10, 1936, on a farm near Uehling to George and Eileen (VonSeggern) Drieling. He attended a country school near Uehling and later graduated from Scribner High School in 1952. He farmed with his father for several years. He married Helen Swanson on Jan. 20, 1957, in Oakland. They farmed near Pender for a few years. They moved to Millard in 1962 when he began to work at Western Electric Co. He worked there until his retirement in 1993. They had been residents of Mead since 1971.
He was a member of Alma Lutheran Church, Tangier Shriners of Omaha and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2971.
Survivors include: his wife; a son, Lane (and wife, Trudy) Drieling of Fremont, two daughters, Paula (and husband, Boyd) Paulson of Elkhorn and Lori (and husband, Jack) Spath of Omaha; brothers, Aldean Drieling of Fremont, Gerald Drieling of Tucson, Ariz., and Roger Drieling of Wahoo; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead with the Rev. Alena Lamirato officiating.
Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo is in charge of arrangements.
