Wahoo High tops NBC

MALCOLM -- The Wahoo High School volleyball team defeated North Bend Central Monday evening in a Class C1-5 subdistrict opener.

The second-seeded Warriors won 25-14, 17-25, 25-14, 25-13 and advance to play Wahoo Neumann tonight.

Ashley Dvorak led North Bend Central with 12 kills and Chelsea Kriekemeier added seven and Stephanie Settles six.

Julia Minarick tallied 17 set assists and Livi Flamme added eight for the Tigers.

Taylor Walla led NBC with three ace serves and Amy Baumert and Minarick ended with two each.

Hull and Walla led the third-seeded Tigers with nine and eight digs respectively while Baumert had seven and Dvorak six.

Kriekemeier and Dvorak also added two blocks apiece.

NBC ends the season with a 16-13 record.

In other C1-5 subdistrict games it was Neumann over David City, 25-12, 25-15, 25-19; and David City over Raymond Central, 20-25, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.
