Fremont Police doing a safety check at a hotel ended up arresting a Pennsylvania man Tuesday morning.
Lt. Kurt Bottorff said two females from Carroll, Iowa, ages 17 and 18, came to Fremont Police Department shortly before 4:40 a.m. Tuesday and said they were part of a sales group that was staying at Econo Inn.
The girls reported they were uncomfortable with the situation and people in the group and indicated there might be other underage people in the group.
When officers went to the hotel on West 23rd Street, they detected the scent of marijuana coming from one of the rooms.
Adam J. Mclaughlin, 26, of Boothwyn, Pa., was charged with possession of a controlled susbtance-ecstasy, possession of marijuana-less than an ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remained in Dodge County Jail this morning and his bond had not been set as of press time.
Bottorff said it was determined that there were no other underage people in the group.
