Charles “Chick” N. Warrick, 88, of Norfolk died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Hastings to Charles and Ruth (Nellis) Warrick. He graduated from Hastings High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II as a medic in the Pacific Theater and was present at the Battle of the Aleutians. After returning from serving his country he graduated from Hastings College with a bachelor’s degree in business. He married Reba Stetler on Sept. 2, 1944, in Whitewater, Ind. The couple moved to Norfolk in 1948 when the family purchased Warrick Hawkinson Tread where he worked with his father, brother, and then his son and grandsons. His wife preceded him in death in 1987.
Survivors include: his special friend, Deloris Wantlin; a son, George (and wife, Melodia) Warrick of Norfolk; two daughters, Candace Perry of Lincoln and Camille Warrick Marsh (and husband, Peter); a sister, Pat (and husband, Lloyd) Dobney of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Norfolk. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 16, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644 and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard.

So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. It just seems like yesterday when he had the shop on Norfolk Ave. My how the years have gone.
