Mrs. Lallman was my kindergarten teacher at Arlington. She taught me to sit up straight and I always think of her when I fail to do so. My first day of class was at mid-term and I strode into class wearing my cowboy boots. Clinking over the hardwood floors I was in heaven at the sight of sawdust covering those floors. Unfortunately, the sawdust was sopping up a prior "accident." I noticed but did not appreciate the accompanying howls of laughter from my new classmates. Mrs. Lallman announced that while we did have a new cowboy in class she was still the old "lawman" and I was welcomed by all. She was, and yet remains, a positive influence in my life. God love her. But sit up straight!

Mark and Kim and Auntie Alie and Toots and Mom,
So sorry to hear about Aunty Polly. I know she will be very much missed. I will always remember on one of our family trips back to Nebraska how she introduced us to the family pony and let us play on the tractor. She did make us feel special.
Lots of love,

Mark & Kim: So sorry to read about your Mom's passing. I can remember like it was yesterday a Halloween party up in the old Fontanelle Store (upstairs I believe) and your Mom playing the accordian. You will both be in my prayers. Becky (Meier) Mulkey

Dear Mark,
I was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. You may not be aware but for the last two years she had been keeping me posted on available property located in Fontanelle. After having been a young girl in Fontanelle I find myself considering retiring there.

Not only was your mother a very interesting and knowledgeable person. I still have two letters she wrote me. One is dated Aug. 2008 and the other is July 2009. I couldn't put them in the trash because the handwriting was so beautiful. She was a very kind and thoughtful person.

My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Kim and Mark,
I am very sorry to hear about the death of your Mother. I visited with Polly when I was back in Fremont for my mom's funeral in June. Even though I am 51 years old, I think she always called me Timmy(that always brought a smile to my face). I will remember your Mom's laugh and I know that my Mom treasured her friendship.

Mark,

I'm so very sorry about your Mama. I sincerely wish I would have gotten the opportunity to meet her. With the kind words displayed here and with the sheer bond you two shared, I know she was a wonderful and extroadinary lady. And, yes, she had the most beautiful handwriting! I explained to Gracie why you would be upset and she understood why, but she quickly followed it up by saying that you wouldn't have to fly anymore to go see her because now she could be your guardian angel and be with you ALL the time! So clear to a 6-year-old! Please know that Josh, Gracie, and I are keeping you and your sister in our thoughts and prayers. With deep sympathy and love, Katie, Josh, and Gracie
