Other Information: http://www.luxcenter.orgBarnes & Noble will host a bookfair to benefit LUX Center for the Arts. LUX Center for the Arts is a non-profit visual arts center with a 30-year history in northeast Lincoln. The mission of Lux Center for the Arts is to enhance the lives of a diverse public through the visual arts by providing exceptional learning opportunities in contemporary art, craft and design. These opportunities, honoring the legacy of arts educator Gladys M. Lux, include art classes, residence programs, gallery exhibitions and community outreach. During the bookfair, supporters must present a voucher or mention the organization at the time of any purchase. A portion of the net sales will be donated to the LUX. Another way to support LUX Center for the Arts during the bookfair is to purchase a book from their ‘wishlist’ table. These books will be given to the LUX to help in their continued efforts to build an education library at the center. LUX Center for the Arts will facilitate arts activities for youth and adults from 1-3pm during the day-long bookfair. Activities to include origami demonstrations, hands-on origami folding, creating hand-printed postcards and artist talks in the café. All ages are welcome.
