Bead Studio adds dress shop
On the day of its holiday open house, the Main Street Bead Studio is looking to dress up its image.

Cheryl Brown, former owner of the studio, has opened Sassafras, a women’s clothing outlet within the studio.

Fremont National Bank remodeling begins Wednesday
After Nov. 10, Fremont National Bank customers who usually use the main downtown branch temporarily will need to use another branch.

Remodeling of the bank’s lobby area is scheduled to begin Nov. 11 -- Veterans’ Day -- and continue until Nov. 29. During that time, the teller windows and safe deposit boxes will be closed to the public.

Fremont to receive grant for downtown lighting project
Fremont will receive an additional $12,500 to help pay for new street lights in the downtown area.

The Nebraska Department of Roads this week announced more than $7 million had been awarded to complete 11 transportation enhancement projects with money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
