Fremont and Elkhorn Valley Railroad
Ride the rails of the Fremont and Elkhorn Valley Railroad. The track runs 16 round-trip miles through the Elkhorn Valley from Fremont to Nickerson. The rail cars are vintage and date to the 1920s, including climate controlled coaches, snack car and caboose. The track the cars ride upon was laid in 1869. The railroad is owned and operated by the Nebraska Railroad Museum (formerly the Eastern Nebraska Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society) a nonprofit rail preservation organization. FEVR excursion runs board at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May through October, departing from the FEVR depot, which is also the museum and gift shop, located at 1835 N. Somers Ave.
Group charters are available on a year-round basis with limited scheduling.

Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area
The Fremont Lakes State Recreation area just west of Fremont draws nearly a million visitors a year.The 700-acre site has 20 man-made lakes that provide fishing, swimming, power boating, skiing and jet skiing. There are 200 camping sites. The lakes area includes concessions, playgrounds, picnic areas and bathrooms with showers. A handicapped fishing pier can be found on Lake No. 2 and 18, and a shower building is located in the north camp area; the majority of roads are hard-surfaced. Christensen Field Ag/Athletic Park
Christensen Field Agricultural and Athletic Park, in northwest Fremont at Christensen Field Road and Ridge Road Drive, is one of Fremont’s busiest places.Horse shows are held there nearly every weekend, as well as baseball and softball games for more than 1,000 little leaguers in summer and soccer for boys and girls of all ages. It also is home to the Fremont Senior-Adult Center and the annual Nine County Fremont 4-H Fair.
Other activities include swap meets, music festivals, circuses, dog shows, toy shows, gun shows, dances, craft shows, rodeos, bullriding and more. Residents can rent buildings for shows, receptions, etc. Electrical hook-ups, showers and sanitary dump stations are on site.

Fremont Dinner Train
The Fremont Dinner Train is a unique attraction, offering dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon while rolling over the floor of the Platte and Elkhorn river valleys.The refurbished dining cars carry passengers back to the time when rail travel was the norm. Music, movies and other nostalgic activities are often available, as well as murder-mystery dinner theaters, melodramas, wine tastings, USO shows and special holiday runs.
