Humane Society

The Dodge County Humane Society provides care to homeless, injured and abused animals and reunites lost pets with their owners.

It emphasizes responsible pet ownership by encouraging spaying and neutering through shelter adoption policies and educational events. It offers visitations to schools and other educational facilities. Pet Therapy volunteers visit area nursing homes each week.

Adoption fees are $53 for dogs and $42.50 for cats. Fees cover any shots and medication given as well as kenneling/adoption fee.

It has a contract with the City of Fremont for animal control and rely on donations, memberships, memorials, grants, impound and adoption fees for income.

The shelter is located at 787 S. Luther Road. Its hours are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Closed Sundays and holidays. For more information call 721-3282; e-mail: dchs@tvsonline.net; Web site: www.dodgecohumane.org.
