John C. Fremont Days
The 22th annual John C. Fremont Days festival will be held July 11-13. It’s an event that continues to grow and make changes. John C. Fremont Days was named as one of the “Top 100 Events in North America” in 2004.There will be three fun-filled days and nights with something for everyone. Nearly 150 events and acts take place during this city-wide celebration. There is no admission charge and most events are free.
Some of the highlights include: a rodeo, historical encampments, the auto show on downtown Fremont streets, the Little Miss Fremont Pageant, Spam Cooking Contest, all kinds of sporting events, a parade, two stages of entertainment, children’s events and so much more.
Hundreds of volunteers work together to make John C. Fremont Days successful. If you’re interested in becoming involved, please contact Jeff Hoffman, executive director, at 727-9428.

MainStreet of Fremont events
MainStreet of Fremont Inc. hosts several events during the year, including an Easter Egg hunt, a farmers’ market, Halloween Hysteria, and the the annual Christmas Walk and Christmas Parade.Halloween Hysteria is in October and features costume contests and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. Fremont National Bank traditionally holds its Haunted Bank the same night.
The Christmas Walk is Friday following Thanksgiving (Nov. 28) in historic downtown Fremont. The event includes open houses at local businesses, refreshments, visits from Santa, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph and live entertainment. The Christmas Parade is held the first Saturday in December.

Bull Riding Classic
The 15th annual Bull Riding Classic will be held in 2009 at Christensen Field. There will be bull riding, bull fighting, music, funny man acts and mutton busting for the kids. A dance follows each night’s performance, all for one admittance price.Rodeo Rose Productions of Hershey will be the contractor with 30 different cowboys riding each night. Brent and Stella Larreau are owners.

Homesteaders Fair
The lifestyles of our pioneers those who settled this prairie are celebrated each year at Homesteaders Fair at May Museum.The fair is the first Sunday of October. This year that is Oct. 5. You'll see quilting, blacksmithing, broom making and many more activities that are considered crafts today but were necessities 100 years ago.

St. Patrick's Fun Festival
St. Patrick's Catholic Church hosts a family fun festival the first weekend of June each year. Activities are geared for kids of all ages.There is an arts and crafts show and bake sale on both days, an outdoor mass Saturday evening with a barbecued pork dinner served before and after the mass. Food, game booths and kiddie rides on Sunday. This year’s festival is June 7-8 at Fourth and Union streets.

9-County Fremont 4-H Fair
The Nine-County Fremont 4-H Fair will be held July 9-13 with most events taking place at Christensen Field in northwest Fremont. The fair includes a downtown parade on Sunday, help in conjunction with the John C. Fremont Days parade. More than 4,000 youth compete with entries from cookies and clothes to livestock. Admission is free.The activities are co-sponsored by the Agricultural Business Council of the Fremont Area Chamber and the Fremont 4-H Fair Board.
Counties involved include Burt, Butler, Colfax, Cuming, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington.
