Two people who violated a court order not to drive were sentenced to prison Monday in Dodge County District Court.
Judge John Samson sentenced 43-year-old Shane Fahrenholz of Waterloo to two to four years in prison for DUI-third offense-refusal to submit to a chemical test, a Class IIIA felony, and driving during 15-year license revocation, a Class IV felony.
Fahrenholz also was fined $1,500 and had his driver’s license revoked for 15 years.
Tracy Gunsolley, 44, of Omaha, was sentenced to 18 months to three years in prison for DUI-second offense, a Class W misdemeanor, and driving during 15-year revocation, a Class IV felony.
Gunsolley also was fined $1,500 and had her driver’s license revoked for 15 years.
Also on Monday Samson sentenced Justin Speicher, 23, of Fremont to five to seven years in prison for delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, both Class III felonies.
Speicher, who was accused of selling marijuana, originally was in the drug court program but was terminated for violating the program’s rules.
"This is simply an individual who made a very poor decision in not following through with the opportunities presented by drug court," Deputy Dodge County Attorney Mark Boyer said.
Samson also sentenced 28-year-old Rebecca Juedes-Webster to two years of intensive supervised probation for aiding and abetting in the consummation of a felony, a Class IV felony.
In another case on Monday, 41-year-old Jeffrey Guern of Fremont pleaded no contest to animal cruelty, a Class IV felony. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Guern is accused of using a bat and hammer to kill a cat in January.
Sentencing was set for March 8.
In other items on Monday:
n Lynette Rudder, 29, of Fremont was unsatisfactorily discharged from probation after admitting to violating her probation for failure to make payments.
n Michael Murphy, 40, of Fremont pleaded not guilty to DUI-third offense blood alcohol higher than 0.15, a Class IIIA felony; reckless driving, a Class III misdemeanor; and failure to yield the right-of-way, an infraction. Further proceedings were set for March 1.
n The cases of Shayla Jasper, 19, of Fremont and Nayapak Wuol, 28, of Storm Lake, Iowa, were continued until March 1.
n Linda Gaines-Bentley, 43, of Fremont had her case continued until Feb. 22.
n A motion to suppress hearing in the case of Justin Bacon, 29, of Fremont, was set for March 25.
